How to upload

Go to Audio in the left sidebar. Then:

  • Click the upload button (cloud icon) or Upload Tracks to browse your computer
  • Drag and drop files directly into the browser window

ReelCrafter queues your files and uploads them in batches. You'll see progress for each track and can cancel any upload by clicking the X next to the track name.

Tip: If you're in a folder when you upload, new tracks go into that folder. If you're in Unfiled, All Audio, or any other Smart Folder, new tracks go to Unfiled.

Supported formats

ReelCrafter accepts:

  • AIFF – Preferred for quality; best metadata support
  • WAV – Preferred for quality
  • FLAC – Lossless compression
  • MP3
  • M4A/AAC

For best playback quality, upload uncompressed files (WAV or AIFF) at 44.1kHz/16-bit or higher.

Maximum length: 60 minutes per file

What happens after upload

Once your files reach our servers:

  1. Original stored – We keep your original file (WAV, AIFF, etc.) for full-quality downloads and cutting snippets in the Snippet Editor
  2. Streaming version created – We create a 256kbps CBR MP3 for playback in reels
  3. Metadata extracted – We pull metadata from your file and store it as ID3 tags
  4. Waveform generated – A visual waveform is created for the player

Processing usually takes a few seconds per track. Wait for processing to complete before adding tracks to a reel.

Common questions

How many tracks can I upload?

Starter and Professional plans include unlimited audio uploads. Free plans include up to 100 tracks.

What's the maximum file size?

There's no strict file size limit. Audio is limited to 60 minutes per file. Large uncompressed files may take longer to upload and process.

Can I upload tracks longer than 60 minutes?

Not currently. If you have longer content, consider splitting it into separate tracks.

Where do uploaded tracks go?

New uploads go to the folder you're currently viewing. If you're in Unfiled, All Audio, or any other Smart Folder, tracks go to Unfiled.

Can I replace a track without breaking my reels?

Yes. Open the track's detail page and use the Replace Audio option. The track keeps its place in all reels, share links stay active, and analytics are preserved. If you've created snippets from that track, they'll be recut from the new audio.

How do I delete tracks I no longer need?

Select tracks using the checkboxes and choose Delete from the bulk actions menu, or use the three-dot menu on individual tracks. Deleted tracks go to Trash and can be recovered within 30 days.

Can I upload from my phone?

Yes, though for large files we recommend using a desktop browser for faster, more reliable uploads.
