Credits block: Showcase projects and credits
The Credits feature allows you to create and manage your professional credits for all your projects easily. You can create separate Credits sheets for different types of projects or areas of your experience, like film, video games, advertising, etc. Credits sheets will update dynamically, meaning that any changes you make to a saved Credits sheet will be immediately reflected on all reels that use it.
Creating Credits sheets
To create a Credits sheet, navigate to the Reel Settings ▸ Credits page from the left-hand navigation menu. Be sure to select “Credits” from the side menu to access the Credits settings.
Adding a Credits sheet
Once on the Credits settings page, click "Add Credits Sheet" to create a new Credits sheet and open the settings panel.
Entering project details
Give your Credits sheet a name that reflects the type of project or category of credits you want to include, and begin adding your project details. You can add project names, client names, years, URLs, and notes for each project you want to include in the sheet. You can leave some fields blank if preferred. Click “ Add Credit” to save a credit to your sheet.
Saving the Credits sheet
Once you have entered all the necessary project details, click the “ Save Sheet” button located in the bottom right corner of the page. Your Credits sheet will be saved and can now be used in your reels. Any changes you make to a saved Credits sheet in the future will be immediately reflected on all reels that use it.
Using Credits sheets
Adding a Credits block to a reel
Now that you've saved a Credits sheet, you are ready to use the Credits block while in the Reel Builder.
To add a Credits block:
- Hover in the center of the Reel Builder and between (or above/below) the blocks where you want to add the credits until the plus sign icon appears.
- Click the plus sign to open the block menu.
- Click on “Credits” to insert the new block (block names are sorted by Basic and Advanced blocks and appear alphabetically in the menu).
Credits block settings
Once the block is added, you can customize the section title by typing a new name in the “Section Title” field. This is the text that will appear above the Credits block on your reel.
You can also choose from four different layout options for the Credits block: Table, Centered Columns, Left-Aligned Columns, or List. The Table layout includes an optional header row, the column layouts allow you to display the credits in a column format, and the List layout displays the credits in a simple list format.
Finally, choose the Credits sheet you want to display from the drop-down list. Once you select a Credits sheet, you will see a preview of all the credits saved in that sheet.
Managing Credits sheets
Editing or deleting Credits sheets
To edit or delete a Credits sheet, first, go to the Credits settings page and find the Credits sheet you want to edit. Click the pencil icon to open the sheet in the editor, or click the trash can icon to delete a Credits sheet. If you need to delete an individual project, click the trash can icon next to the pencil icon for that project. Any changes you make to a saved Credits sheet will be immediately reflected on all reels that use it.
IMPORTANT: You must click “Save Sheet” in the bottom right of the editing panel to update the Credits sheet.
Tips and best practices
Updating Credits sheets dynamically
Credits sheets are designed to update dynamically, so any changes you make to a saved Credits sheet will be immediately reflected on all reels that use it. This means that you don’t have to worry about manually updating each reel with new project details or credits, as the Credits sheets take care of it for you. Just remember to update your Credits sheets regularly with any new information or projects you want to showcase.
Customizing layouts for optimal display
The Credits block allows you to choose between table (with or without a table header), columns, or a list view. When selecting a layout, keep in mind the amount and type of information you want to display, as well as the overall aesthetic of your reel. You can experiment with different layouts to find the one that best showcases your projects and credits. Just click the “Preview” button in the Reel Builder to view the Credits block while you’re building your reel.
Repurposing the Credits block
While the Credits block is primarily designed to showcase project details and credits, you can also use it for other purposes. For example, you can use the table, columns, or list view to showcase other types of information, such as awards, team members, or testimonials. Just make sure to choose a layout that best displays the information you want to highlight.
