Setting a personalized URL for a reel

Paid plans can create personalized URLs for reels, allowing you to use memorable, branded links instead of system-generated URLs.

When you create a new share link, it gets a unique URL like "play.reelcrafter.com/ZIc3I0qnTr6FzPiDkItN2g". System-generated URLs are harder to guess, which adds a layer of privacy. But in some cases you might want something easier to read or recall. That's where personalized URLs come in.

Set your username

Before creating personalized URLs, you need to claim a username. Your username appears in all your personalized URLs, so pick something general like your name or business name (not something specific to a single reel).

To set your username:

1. Go to Reel Settings → Sharing & Notifications
2. Enter your desired username in the "Public Username" field
3. Click Save

Create your personalized URL

Once your username is set:

1. Open your reel's share link settings by clicking the chevron next to the link name on the reel detail page
2. Find the Personalized URL field in the URLs tab
3. Enter a name for this share link URL
4. Click Set URL to apply it

You can change the URL at any time, but be careful: if you've already sent the link and change it, the old URL will stop working. Personalized URLs are case-sensitive.

What plans include personalized URLs?

Personalized URLs are available on Starter and Professional plans. Free plans use system-generated URLs only.

Can I use the same personalized URL for multiple reels?

No. Each personalized URL must be unique across your account.

Do personalized URLs affect tracking?

No. Both the standard URL and personalized URL for a share link share the same tracking data. They're two ways to access the same link.

What happens if I change my username?

All your existing personalized URLs will stop working. You'll need to re-share any links with recipients using the new username.
