How it works
When someone signs up using your referral code:
- They get: Their first month free (or a prorated discount on an annual plan)
- You get: A matching credit once they pay for their first month (or choose an annual plan)
Example: Refer a Professional Annual customer and earn $20.83 credit toward your own subscription.
Credits are applied automatically to your future invoices. You can see your current credit balance on the Billing page.
Sharing your code
Find your referral code at Account → Referrals.
You have two ways to share:
- Copy code: Share just your referral code. Friends enter it at checkout.
- Copy affiliate link: Share a direct signup link with your code built in (reelcrafter.com/signup?code=YOURCODE).
Tracking referrals
The Referrals page shows your total credits earned and a table of everyone you've referred. 
Each referral shows:
- Email: The referred user's email address
- Referred At: When they signed up
- Award Amount: Your credit amount and status
Award status will show:
- (pending): They signed up but haven't paid yet
- (canceled): They didn't continue after their free month, so no credit was awarded
- No status: Credit has been awarded to your account
Common questions
When do I receive my credit?
You receive credit once your referral pays for their first month (after their free trial ends) or chooses an annual plan. Credits are applied automatically to your account.
How much credit do I earn?
You earn the same amount your referral saved. For example, if they got a $25 discount on Professional Monthly, you earn $25 credit.
Who can participate in the referral program?
Anyone with an active account can participate, regardless of which plan they're on. Users who are still in their trial period or have cancelled their account are not eligible.
Can I see my total credits?
Yes. Your total referral credits earned is shown on the Referrals page. To see your current credit balance (which may include other credits), visit the Billing page.
What if my referral cancels?
If your referral cancels during their free month without paying, you won't receive credit. The tracking table will show "(canceled)" next to that referral.
