Event Calendar: Manage and showcase your events

The Event Calendar block displays upcoming events like tour dates, film screenings, or speaking engagements. You create and manage calendars in Reel Settings, then choose which calendar to display on each reel. Changes to a calendar automatically update all reels using it.

Creating calendars in Reel Settings

Create and manage your Event Calendars in Reel Settings ▸ Event Calendar.

Adding a calendar

Click Create New Calendar to create a new calendar. Give it a name that reflects the type of events (e.g., "Tour Dates," "Film Screenings," "Speaking Engagements").

Adding events

Click Add Event to add individual entries. For each event, you can enter:

• Date
• Venue name
• Address (auto-searches based on venue name)
• Link (optional, for tickets or more info)

Your calendar saves automatically as you add events.

Editing and deleting

Click the pencil icon next to any event to edit it, or the trash icon to delete it. You can also delete an entire calendar using the Delete Calendar button. Any changes you make to a calendar will immediately update all reels using that calendar.

Using the Event Calendar block in the Reel Builder

To add an Event Calendar block to your reel, click the + icon between blocks and select Event Calendar from the Advanced blocks section.

Block settings

• Section Title: The heading that appears above your calendar (e.g., "Upcoming Shows")
• Calendar: Choose which calendar to display from the dropdown
• Link Button Label: Text for the link button (default: "More Info")
• No Events Text: Message shown when there are no upcoming events
• Hide Past Events: Toggle to hide events that have already occurred
• Map View: Toggle to show a map of event locations
• Event Display Limit: Control how many events to show and how far into the future

Common questions

Can I have multiple Event Calendar blocks on one reel?

Yes. Add multiple blocks and assign different calendars to each one.

Will editing a calendar update my existing reels?

Yes. Changes to a calendar are immediately reflected on all reels using that calendar.

What happens when events pass?

If you have "Hide Past Events" enabled, they'll automatically disappear from the display. Otherwise, they'll remain visible.

Can I use the Event Calendar for things other than events?

Yes. The calendar works well for any time-based information: workshops, webinars, release dates, or deadlines.

What is the "HERE" copyright on the map?

HERE is the mapping service that powers the Event Calendar's map view. The copyright notice is required by the service and will always appear when the map is enabled.
