Copy and Paste Blocks or Playlists in the Reel Builder

With ReelCrafter v2.5, you can now copy and paste any block within a reel, including media blocks and even individual playlists. This makes it faster than ever to reuse your most effective content without recreating it from scratch.

This article will show you how to use the copy-paste feature inside the Reel Builder and from the Reel Details page, plus a few pro tips for speeding up your workflow.

Copy and paste blocks in the Reel Builder

To begin copying and pasting blocks, open the Reel Builder:

  1. Navigate to your Library page.
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the reel name and choose Edit in Reel Builder,
or click the reel name to open the Reel Details page, then click Edit in Reel Builder at the top.

In Reels Library:

On the Reel Details page:

Once you’re in the Reel Builder, you’ll see all the content blocks in your reel. On the right-hand side of each block, you’ll see three icons:

  • Copy block (clipboard icon)
  • Hide block
  • Delete block

Click the copy block icon (it looks like a clipboard with a sheet of paper) to copy the block to your clipboard.

After copying, a new option appears: Paste block here. This shows up between each block, alongside the usual Insert block here button.

  • Insert block here: Add a brand-new block.
  • Paste block here: Insert the exact block you just copied.

Click Paste block here to instantly insert the copied block at that location. This works for all types of blocks—banner, text, media, and more.

Copy and paste a playlist inside a media block

You can also copy an individual playlist inside a media block (rather than copying the entire block).

  1. Open the media block.
  2. Locate the playlist you want to reuse.
  3. Click the copy playlist icon.

Once copied, you’ll see a Paste playlist button appear in that same media block, allowing you to duplicate the playlist within the same reel.

Paste into a different reel

This feature works across reels, too. You can copy a block or playlist in one reel and paste it into another:

  • Copy a block or playlist from Reel A.
  • Open Reel B (or create a new one).
  • Paste your copied content.

Note: The copied item stays on your clipboard until you paste it. After pasting, it’s removed. So if you want to paste it again, you’ll need to copy it again.

Copy playlists from the Reel Details page

You don’t have to open the Reel Builder just to reuse a playlist. Here’s a shortcut:

  1. Go to the Reel Details page.
  2. Scroll down to the Media tab.
  3. Under the Audio section, find your playlist.
  4. Click the copy playlist icon.

The playlist is now on your clipboard. You can paste it directly into an existing or new reel using the Paste playlist button inside a media block.

Pro tip: Use a template reel for your favorite playlists

If you have playlists you use frequently—like one for each genre or mood—you can build a dedicated template reel that holds them all. Then:

  • Go to the Reel Details page of your template reel.
  • Copy the playlist you need.
  • Paste it into any new or existing reel.

This is a fast way to build consistent reels without starting from scratch every time.

Key things to remember

  • You can only copy one item at a time (one block or one playlist).
  • Pasting clears the clipboard. You’ll need to copy again if you want to paste multiple times.
  • You can copy from either the Reel Builder or the Reel Details page (Media > Audio tab only).
  • Playlists must be pasted into a media block. Blocks can be pasted between any other blocks.
