Payment Issues & Grace Periods

If a renewal payment fails, your ReelCrafter subscription does not cancel immediately. This article explains how payment retries work, what happens during the retry period, and how to fix billing issues.

What Happens When a Payment Fails

When a renewal attempt is unsuccessful:

  • We email you to let you know the payment did not go through.
  • Your subscription stays active for now.
  • Our billing system automatically retries the payment several times over approximately 28 days.

Most issues resolve once you update your payment method or your bank approves a retry.

Retry Period

When a payment fails, your account enters a retry period (approximately 28 days). During this time:

  • Your content remains safe
  • Your subscription stays active
  • Your reels and share links stay online
  • You can access paid features

The retry period gives you time to update your payment method before your subscription cancels.

When Your Subscription Cancels

If all payment retries fail:

  • Your subscription moves into a canceled state
  • Reels and share links go offline
  • Paid features turn off
  • Your content enters the standard 30-day post-cancellation grace period

You can reactivate at any time before deletion.

How to Fix a Payment Issue

Update your payment method here:
https://app.reelcrafter.com/account/billing?tab=payment-methods

As long as you update your payment method within the retry period, our billing system will automatically retry the payment. You do not need to contact support or ask us to rerun it.

If the subscription has already been canceled by the time you update your payment method, you can simply reactivate your account from the Billing page. No support request is needed.

If you pay with PayPal, make sure your PayPal funding source is current. If your PayPal billing agreement was canceled on PayPal’s side, you may need to reauthorize it.

Common Reasons Payments Fail

  • Expired or replaced card
  • Insufficient funds
  • Bank or issuer decline
  • PayPal funding source issues
  • Temporary network or processor errors
  • Recurring payment restrictions in your country (some banks block international subscriptions by default)
Most failures resolve with an updated payment method, or by contacting your bank to authorize the charge.
If your bank won’t allow recurring charges, contact us and we’ll send you a direct payment link so you can keep your subscription active.

ReelCrafter cannot update or override your payment information.

If your card or PayPal payment continues to be declined, your bank or payment provider will need to resolve the issue.
