Biography: Your headshot and bio
The Biography block displays your headshot and bio text. You can set defaults in Reel Settings that pre-populate on every new reel, then override or adjust the layout when needed.

Setting your default headshot
Your headshot is set in Reel Settings ▸ Design Defaults. Scroll down to the Headshot section and upload your image. Once saved, this headshot pre-populates the Biography block on every new reel you create.
For best results, use a JPG that's at least 680 pixels on each side.
Changes to your default headshot update instantly on all reels that are using the default. Reels where you've overridden the headshot won't be affected.

Your biography text is set in Reel Settings ▸ Personal Information. Enter your bio in the Biography field. Once saved, this text pre-populates the Biography block on every new reel you create.

Your changes won't apply until you click Save.
Using the Biography block in the Reel Builder
When you create or edit a reel, the Biography block displays your default headshot and bio text. You'll see a gray or orange alert box indicating whether defaults are being used.
Layout options
The Biography block offers several layout options:
- No headshot: Display biography text only
- Headshot on the left: Place the headshot to the left of your bio
- Headshot on the right: Place the headshot to the right of your bio

- Section title: Add a heading above the biography
- Hide shaded background: Remove the subtle background color
- Hide contact info: Hide the contact information that appears below the bio
Overriding on a specific reel
To use different content on a specific reel, check the Override box for either the headshot or biography text, then make your changes.
If you uncheck the Override box, your defaults will be restored.
Common questions
Where do I set my default headshot?
The headshot is set in Reel Settings ▸ Design Defaults, separate from the biography text which is in Personal Information.
Can I show my contact info below the biography?
Contact info appears below the bio if you have a visible Contact Info block. If you've hidden the Contact Info block, you can use the Representation block to display contact details, or add your info directly in the biography text.
Can I save overrides as my new default?
Yes. After overriding your biography or headshot, click Save as default. This updates your Reel Settings and applies to all future reels.
Can I hide the Biography block entirely?
Yes. Click the eye icon in the upper right corner of the block to hide it from your reel.
Will changing my defaults update existing reels?
Yes, unless you've overridden the biography or headshot on that reel. Reels using the default will update automatically.
