The audio detail page is where you manage everything about a track: album art, snippets, metadata, notes, lyrics, and see where it's used. Click any track in your Audio library to open its detail page.

Actions and playback

At the top of the page you'll find the back button, the track name (click the pencil to edit), and actions you can take. If you don't see a specific action, check the three-dot menu.

Available actions:

  • Replace file: Swap the audio file while keeping snippets, tags, and reel placements. See Replace audio file.
  • Download original: Download the file you uploaded
  • Normalize Audio (Professional): Adjust the track's peak volume level. See Peak Normalization.
  • Share: Create a Quick Share link
  • Move to folder: Organize the track into a folder
  • Delete: Move the track to Trash

Below the header is the waveform player. Use the play/pause button to preview your track, and click anywhere on the waveform to jump to that point.

Album art

The square image to the left of the waveform is your album art. Click it to choose an image from your library or upload a new one. For more details, see Album art.

Album art should be square (1:1 aspect ratio). We recommend JPEG format, no larger than 1024x1024 pixels.

Tags

Below the player is the tag input. Add tags to organize your tracks and use them with Smart Folders. Type to search existing tags or create new ones. For more details, see Tags.

Tabs

The tabbed section contains five areas:

Snippets

Create and manage shorter clips from your full track. Click Create new snippet to open the snippet editor, where you can set start and end points. Your existing snippets appear in a list below. For more details, see Snippet editor.

Metadata

Available on the Professional plan.

Edit the track's metadata fields like title, artist, album, genre, and more. Changes here are injected into ReelCrafter's copy of the file, so when you download the file, you'll get the updated metadata. For more details, see Metadata.

Notes

Two text fields for notes:

  • Internal notes: Only visible to you. Use for production notes, client feedback, or anything you want to remember.
  • Public notes: Displayed on your reels when the Show/Hide toggle is enabled. Use for track descriptions, credits, or context you want to share.

For more details, see Track Notes.

Lyrics

Add lyrics or spoken word content. These can be displayed on your reels using the Lyrics block. For more details, see Lyrics.

Common questions

What's the difference between the track name and the metadata title?

The track name (at the top of the page) is what appears in your library, on reels, and determines the filename when someone downloads the track. The metadata title (in the Metadata tab) is what music players like iTunes or Apple Music display when the file is imported into a library. If the metadata title is empty, most players will show the filename instead.

Does changing the track name affect my reels?

Yes. The track name in ReelCrafter (not the same as the metadata title) updates everywhere the track appears, including playlists. However, if you've manually overridden the name on a specific reel, that override stays in place.

How can I see what reels my track is used in?

Open the Details tab. The "Used in Reels" section lists every reel that contains this track or any of its snippets.

Where do I find Replace file or Normalize Audio?

These actions are at the top of the page. If you don't see them, check the three-dot menu.

How do I add or change album art?

Click the square image to the left of the waveform. You can choose an image from your library or upload a new one.

How do I add lyrics?

Open the Lyrics tab and paste or type your lyrics.

Where can I see which tags are on this track?

Tags appear below the waveform player. You can add or remove tags there.

Where do I create snippets?

Open the Snippets tab and click Create new snippet. Your existing snippets are listed below the button.
