How to Cancel Your Subscription

You can cancel your ReelCrafter subscription at any time. This guide explains how to cancel inside your account, important notes for PayPal users, what happens afterward, and which plan options are available when you come back.

1. How to Cancel in the App

Canceling in the ReelCrafter app stops all future subscription renewals.

Step-by-step

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Go to Billing Settings → Subscription
    https://app.reelcrafter.com/account/billing?tab=subscription
  3. Select Hold/Cancel Subscription.
  4. Choose “Cancel/delete account” and click the red Cancel Account button to confirm

Your subscription stays active until the end of your current billing period.

You’ll receive two emails:

  • One confirming your cancellation has been scheduled
  • One confirming cancellation is complete at the end of your billing period

2. Important for PayPal Users

PayPal works differently because it uses a billing agreement (BAID) instead of a card number.

Key things to know

  • Canceling in ReelCrafter does not cancel the billing agreement in PayPal.
  • You will not be charged again — when you cancel in ReelCrafter, we stop sending PayPal any renewal requests.
  • Your PayPal billing agreement will still appear in your PayPal account until you remove it manually (optional).

If you cancel the billing agreement in PayPal first

  • Your next renewal attempt will fail.
  • Our billing platform will treat it as a payment failure and begin normal dunning retries.
  • After the final retry fails, your subscription will automatically cancel.

If you want immediate cancellation, cancel in your  ReelCrafter billing settings, not in PayPal.

3. Canceling Add-Ons

Add-ons (e.g., Custom Domains) follow the same billing schedule as your main subscription.

To cancel an add-on:
Billing Settings → Add-Ons
https://app.reelcrafter.com/account/billing?tab=addons

For mid-cycle annual add-on cancellations, email support@reelcrafter.com — we may be able to issue a goodwill refund.

4. What Happens After You Cancel

Until your billing period ends

  • Your subscription stays fully active
  • Reels remain online
  • You keep access to all paid features

After your billing period ends

Your account moves to a canceled state:

  • Published reel links stop working
  • Paid features are disabled
  • You can’t create new reels
  • Your uploaded content stays stored for a limited time
  • We’ll email before removing any content

You can reactivate at any time before deletion.

5. Plan Options After Cancellation

When your account is in a canceled state, you can reactivate on any available plan:

Professional Plan

Restores full access to all features and the highest storage limits.

Free or Starter Plans

You may be asked to remove files, reels, or share links if you exceed the plan limits.

Considering the Hold Plan?

If you want to keep your content stored but pause your subscription, the Hold Plan must be selected during the cancellation flow, not after your account is already canceled.

Once your account enters a canceled state, Hold is no longer available as a reactivation option.

For full details, see:
→ Hold Plan Guide

6. Canceling by Email (Backup Method)

If you can’t access your account:

Email support@reelcrafter.com from your billing email with:

  • Subject: Cancel Subscription
  • A short request to cancel
  • Ownership verification (billing name + last 4 digits of card, or invoice ID)

Do not send full payment information via email.

7. Important Notes

Cancellation is not a refund

Canceling stops future billing.
Refund policies vary by region — see Refunds & Withdrawal Rights for details.

You must cancel before your renewal date

Once a renewal processes, your subscription remains active until that new billing period ends.

Expired trial users must select a plan

Trials do not auto-convert.
When your trial ends, your account enters a canceled state until you choose a plan.
