Hold Plan Guide

The Hold Plan lets you pause your ReelCrafter subscription at a reduced rate while keeping your content safely stored.


What Is the Hold Plan?

The Hold Plan costs 25% of your current Monthly plan and keeps all your content stored under your current quotas.

  • Available only for Monthly subscribers
  • Most features are disabled while on Hold
  • Reels and share links are offline
  • Embedded players on external websites continue to work
Note: Annual subscribers must finish their current term and switch to Monthly before using Hold.

What You Can & Can’t Do

You CAN:

  • Log in and access your account
  • View and edit existing reels
  • Remove files, reels, or share links
  • Use embedded players (they remain active)

You CANNOT:

  • Upload new media
  • Create new reels or new share links
  • Use custom domains
  • View analytics
  • Share live reels (links return 404)

What Happens When Hold Starts

Hold takes effect on your next renewal date.

At that time:

  • Share links become inactive (404)
  • Billing switches to 25% of your previous Monthly rate
  • All your content stays safely stored
  • Your account stays accessible, and embeddable players continue working.

How to Activate Hold

Step-by-step:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Go to Billing Settings → Hold/Cancel Subscription
  3. In the popup, choose "Put account on Hold"
  4. Click the "Go on Hold" button to confirm your choice

How to Leave Hold

You have three options:

Option 1: Return to Your Previous Plan

  1. Go to Billing Settings
  2. Click "Cancel Hold"
  3. Your account will reactivate on the same plan you had before Hold

What happens: 

  • Billing returns to your previous monthly rate 
  • Share links become active again 
  • All features are restored immediately

Option 2: Switch to a Different Plan

  1. Go to the Plans page in your account
  2. Choose a new plan (Free, Starter, or Professional)
  3. Complete checkout

What happens: 

  • You'll be billed for the new plan 
  • Share links become active again (you may be prompted to do an account cleanup to meet your new plan’s content quotas)
  • Features activate based on your new plan

Option 3: Cancel Your Account Entirely

  1. Go to Billing Settings
  2. Click "Cancel subscription" 
  3. Follow the cancellation flow

What happens: 

Note: You don't need to reactivate to a full-priced plan before canceling, you can cancel directly from Hold.


Frequently Asked Questions

How long can I stay on Hold?
As long as you want. Hold renews monthly until you reactivate or cancel.

Can Annual subscribers use Hold?
Not during their term. Switch to Monthly at the end of your Annual period.

Do embedded players still work?
Yes — embedded players continue to function while on Hold.

Can I edit reels on Hold?
Yes. Edits appear in embedded players immediately, but reels shared via share links stay offline until you reactivate.

Will I lose content if I cancel from Hold?
Not immediately. Standard cancellation grace periods still apply.

Will my custom domain work on Hold?
No. Custom domains rely on share links being active. Since share links return 404 errors on Hold, custom domains won't work. If you need custom domains, keep your account on Free, Starter, or Professional.
