How long are my files stored?
Your files remain in ReelCrafter as long as your account is active. Here's what that means for each account type.

Paid subscriptions
While you have an active Starter or Professional subscription, your audio, video, images, and files are stored indefinitely. There's no automatic deletion based on age or inactivity.
Free accounts
Free accounts keep your content as long as you stay within the Free plan limits and log in at least once every 6 months.
If you don't log in for approximately 6 months, you'll receive email warnings at 30 days, 7 days, and 1 day before deletion. Logging in at any point cancels the deletion and resets the timer.
Exception: If you have an active Custom Domain Add-On on your Free account, the inactivity policy doesn't apply while the add-on is active.
For full details, see Inactivity Deletion for Free Accounts.
Hold plan
The Hold plan keeps all your content safely stored at 25% of your monthly rate. Your files, reels, and settings are preserved, but share links go offline (return 404) until you reactivate. Embedded players continue working.
For full details, see Hold Plan Guide.
Canceled subscriptions
When you cancel a paid subscription, you keep full access until the end of your billing period. After that, your share links go offline and you can no longer create or edit reels.
Grace period: Your content is retained for at least 30 days after your billing period ends. During this time, you can reactivate your subscription or switch to another plan to keep your content. We'll attempt to send a reminder before deletion, but can't guarantee delivery.
To preserve your content, you can:
- Switch to the Free plan: Reduce your content to fit within Free plan limits, then continue using ReelCrafter for free. The inactivity policy applies once you're on Free.
- Switch to the Hold plan: Keep everything stored at a reduced rate until you're ready to reactivate.
- Resubscribe: Start a new paid subscription before the grace period ends.
For details on canceling, see How to Cancel Your Subscription.
Common questions
What happens to my files if I delete my account?
If you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed. This cannot be undone. See How do I delete my account and data? for details.
What happens when I delete an item?
When you delete a reel, track, or other item, it moves to Trash. Items stay in Trash for 30 days, then are permanently deleted. You can restore items or empty Trash early. See Trash and recovery for details.
Can I pause my subscription without losing files?
Yes. The Hold plan keeps your content stored at a reduced rate. See Hold Plan Guide.
Does viewing my reels count as activity on a Free account?
No. Only logging into your ReelCrafter account counts as activity for the inactivity policy.
